I spent my first South African week mostly in the „wine city“ called Stellenbosch which was our headquarter because of my dad. In a short period we managed to visit many wineries and everywhere we went we were greeted with boundless generosity. I guess also because my dad has made such a good job by selling their wines. We sat an umpteen number of times at the wineries and watched people approaching us with more and more wines. As my relationship with wine isn’t so good yet, the winemakers tried to find their sweetest products so that I could feel important and degust some wines as well. More than the wines I used to like the wineries and the dogs living in them. It seems to me that every proper vineyard has to have at least 2 dogs who act like they’re trained to entertain the guests. If the dogs in Estonia are usually loud and willing to eat you, then even the elephant-sized South African dogs are real puppies. The more exclusive wineries also offer living space for turtles and peacocks.
